Real Estate Sales Double Two Weeks in a Row

sales doubleReal estate sales double compared to the week before for the second straight week! Based on the latest Southwest Florida Real Estate trends for the beginning of December, during the week of the 1st in the Southern Ft. Myers, Estero and Bonita Springs area, there were 317 properties sold, compared to 164 units sold the prior week.

Unlike last week Bonita Springs led the market with the most real estate sales. Sales soared to 129 properties sold compared to 44 homes sold during the week of November 24th.  South Fort Myers moved into second with 124 properties sold versus 70 the week before.  And, Estero returned to the third position with 63 real estate transactions which was up from the previous week when there were 47 properties sold.

For the 129 real estate sales in Bonita Springs, 37 percent were condos, 29 percent were vacant lots and 31 percent were single family homes. The other properties sold in Bonita were mobile homes and commercial units.

Also, of the 124 real estate transactions in South Fort Myers, 31 percent were condos, 27 percent were vacant lots and 37 percent were single family homes. The remaining properties sold in this area were mobile homes and multi-family units.

Lastly, of the 63 closings in Estero,  29 percent were condos, 25 percent were vacant lots and 41 percent were single family homes. The only other properties sold in Estero were mobile homes.

In review, real estate sales for the first week of December are broken down by the following property types:  112 single family homes, 106 condos, 87 vacant lots, 7 mobile homes, 3 commercial units and 2 multi-family units sold during the week.

  • 34135 – 100 properties sold (1 commercial unit, 3 mobile homes, 26 vacant lots, 34 single family homes and 36 condos)

Southern Fort Myers

  • 33912 – 26 properties sold (1 vacant lot, 11 single family homes and 14 condos)
  • 33913 – 68 properties sold (2 commercial units, 24 vacant lots, 17 single family homes and 25 condos)
  • 33967 – 30 properties sold (1 mobile home, 2 multi-family units, 9 vacant lots and 18 single family homes)


  • Bonita Springs and Estero Real Estate33928 – 49 properties sold (3 mobile homes, 16 vacant lots, 20 single family homes and 10 condos)
  • 33967 – 4 properties sold (2 single family homes and 2 condos)
  • 34134 – 4 properties sold (1 single family home and 3 condos)
  • 34135 – 6 properties sold (3 single family homes and 3 condos)

Although we saw sales double two weeks in a row, we don’t expect this to happen again next week.  However, the fact that we did see sales double two weeks in a row does reconfirm real estate activity is very strong in southwest Florida.
