SWFL New Construction
March 4, 2016 Posted by Matt
SWFL New Construction increased significantly during the fourth quarter of last year. New home starts were up 42 percent from 893 to 1,282 in the fourth quarter of 2015 according to the most recent Metrostudy report by Hanley Wood. On annual basis new home starts were up 22 percent in Collier County and 10 percent in Lee County.
The quarterly report provided by Metrostudy covers both Lee and Collier counties and includes single-family homes, town homes and duplexes. Condos are not included in the figures.
With the limited supply of re-sale homes on the market, new construction is being built at a fast and furious pace. The good news for buyers is the influx of new homes is improving the tight supply. However, even with SWFL new construction booming there’s still limited supply, especially in the most active price ranges from $300,000 to $500,000. The tight supply is good news for sellers as it’s still a sellers market and you are likely to get top dollar for your home.
Golf Communities with the highest number of new home starts during 2015:
