PERMITS IN LEE COUNTY UP IN AUGUST

Single-Family home permits increased during the month of August in Lee County.  Contractors pulled 111 building permits according to the Lee County Department of Community Development.  The total value of the permits pulled was valued at about $23 million.  When compared to July, there were only 90 permits issued.  Even more importantly,  there were only 81 permits pulled in August of last year

Multi-Family Units

Additionally, there were also 52 multi-family units valued at about $7.1 million were permitted during July.  In comparison to  July of last year, there were only 8 multi-family units permitted.  Similarly, there were only 52 permits pulled during the same month in 2015.

Commercial Units

Finally, there were 29 commercial permits pulled valued at about $18.8 million.  When compared to last month there was only about $333,000 in July 2016 and about $11.9 million in August 2015.

In total, Lee County Community Development issued 3,980 permits of all kinds in August.

Bottom Line

New home permits are up which means inventory is up in Lee County.  Therefore there will be more options for buyers to chose from and at lower prices!
