Are you looking for the latest SWFL country club highlights? Most Private country clubs in Southwest Florida are back up and running after the storm. There was vegetative debris which has since been removed. The clubs along the coast will take longer to repair. In a handful of cases, clubs lost their golf cart rental fleet as salt water and golf cart batteries don’t mix well.
We recently attended a meeting with club General Managers and CEOs who were discussing the state of the industry and what to expect for 2023. As you can imagine, many clubs are grappling with higher labor and food costs.
Additionally, many clubs are in the midst of renovations or are planning to move forward with club enhancements. Material and labor costs will lead to more expensive projects than originally expected. The vast majority of clubs expect a 10-15 percent increase in membership dues for 2023.
Finally, we are also aware of various clubs who will be increasing their membership initiation fee in January to help cover operating expenses.
